  • Our messages are prepared to connect with people's lives by using the ageless wisdom of Scripture and presenting it in a creative, yet straight-forward way. The services are designed to be easily understood by individuals checking out what it really means to have a personal relationship with Jesus.

  • People who attend Central Assembly come from a wide variety of faith backgrounds. Together, we focus on biblical truth and teachings, and pursuing an active relationship with Jesus Christ. You don't have to be a member of a specific religious denomination or of Central Assembly to participate in our services.

  • At Central Assembly you'll see lots of people in jeans and khakis and some in suits and dresses. You're welcome to dress casually, and come as you are.

  • We believe in a variety of different expressions of worshiping God. On the platform, you might see worship leaders clapping or raising their hands while they sing, and the musicians play various instruments. As a Central Assembly attender, you are welcome to worship God in a way you feel expresses your heart toward him. For some, that's quietly reflecting on the words, for others, that's clapping, raising their hands, and singing out.

  • Children are a special part of our congregation and we value them as full participants in the life of our church. Sunday School classes for children (3 years old through the 12th grade) begin at 9:30 a.m. Following the Sunday School at 10:30, children ages 3 years old through 6th grade are dismissed to participate in their own time of singing, prayer and Bible learning known as Children’s Church.

  • Attending services is a good start, but we hope you will always be asking yourself the question: what is my next step?

  • We have quite a mixture of people at Central. Our congregation truly spans the ages, from newborns to folks in their 80s. You’ll find just about every type of person here – married, single, divorced, widowed – professionals, workers, retired – life-long Cedar Rapids residents and those who travel out of city to join us. But even more important than the kind of people who go here is the kind of people who are welcome here – everyone!
